Will do! Thanks!
He has ordered his transcript from his school, but it has not been sent yet. He uploaded the one he has to his portal yesterday.

Good luck to your son! Please share with us when he gets any word from UT. I know some students got their decisions prior to Thanksgiving last year. My son is still working on his application. I will share here when he applies and any updates thereafter.
Has anyone tried to access the housing application today? We just got confirmation that her application was received, and set up the portal. We tried to access the housing application but it takes us to the UT IT service desk? Maybe the housing portal is down?
Give it two business days from the day you received your portal info. If still no access to housing, call admissions office.
Anybody knows if there is a admission stats webpage for UT? A&M has the following
https://accountability.tamu.edu/All-Metrics/Mixed-Metrics/Applied,-Admitted,-Enrolled
@mentioning @FriscoDad as I have seen A&M stats from you. Thanks in advance
Does anyone know if the UT Government major is competitive? I just submitted my application today.
Is there any specific date when acceptances start being pushed out for auto admits? Just curious.
Hi All, my son is in the process of applying to UT Austin and he’s auto admit(top 2% in a class of 1600). I’ve gotten several useful information from this thread and I just want to thank everyone for your expertise.
My son’s first choice is McCombs business, and we are not sure if we should put Liberal Art Economic as second choice major since he would be auto admit. From what I hear from others, I heard UT does not really look at second choice major. If that’s the case, should we still put in second major as Economic or just fill in with whatever other major? Thanks in advanced!
@FriscoDad Since you have abundant knowledge in UT Austin, can you share some insights?
For Auto they will look into second major. But your student should be fine for McCombs.
@FriscoDad thank you for your reply! I’m not so sure if my son will get into McComb because he has a low sat score (1400, if UT Austin superscore, then he would be at 1450, but they don’t). He has good EC, leadership position both school, church and club soccer team 4 years). But due to his low score, we need to be prepared for a second choice major. He would like to study business, so would you recommend economics as second major? Then for his 3rd choice, I’m not sure what to put?
Not sure if this matters, but both my husband and I are UT alumni. Appreciate your advice!
My son is an auto admit and he said in addition to the two choices it gave him a 3rd option with a select group of majors they could also add. He wants engineering so didn’t pick one. T
If the scores are even like 700M700R, then 1400 is not that bad. The high school transcript and the essay will play more important role on course strength and interest in specific business major. More often if the students show strength in social science, language and math will be good fit for business. Good Luck!
Yes, his score is 680R,720M. All his classes in language, math and science are all about >95. Thanks so much for your help!
Have you had any luck with getting into the housing application? UT says received app, and my daughter set up portal. She is having same issue with IT service desk. Our HS is not submitting any transcripts or letters of recommendations until early October. Any advice? Thanks so much.
It will take a few days to share the application data with the housing portal.
Thank you so much! She will keep looking out for it.
Has anyone gotten auto admit acceptance yet?
This is our first kid applying to college.
ApplyTexas or CommonApp, which is better for UT ?
Kid is not Autoadmit abt 5 kids out.
Either, my son send on UT site it said they recommend Common so he submitted Common for UT.
We recommend using the Common App to apply, but you can also apply using the Apply Texas application.
