UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

@MamaShay acceptance decisions have came out for many people in top 7%. I think it will be major decisions

@nillupa yeah, my son already received his acceptance so I’m hoping they are releasing some major decisions today. Keeping our fingers crossed!

Same!! @MamaShay GOOD LUCK everyone and keep us updated!!

if it is like years past- it’s usually kids who applied for honors who hear this early. So some will be auto and some will be review- last year there were even some out of state

@tb2000 honors decisions may come out today? Or just regular majors and no honors?

@nillupa just regular majors. Usually honors start to come out in a few weeks with the exception of BHP.

@nadiaSW when did bhp come out last year? And do decisions come out this early even for people who applied after the priority deadline?

First BHP is before thanksgiving! No, I’m pretty sure you would have had to apply before the priority deadline. Good luck

If you consider 19,000 people are admitted, 1,000 is around 5% of people who will find out today. That is a very, very small group today.

Last year BHP applicants (my child was one of them) received phone calls on this day. in the late afternoon…the Friday before Thanksgiving, but remember that the priority deadline was two weeks earlier so don’t be alarmed if calls aren’t made today since the schedule may likely be 2 weeks later this year. The major did change to McCombs a few days before receiving the phone call, but some friends received their calls without their major changing.

@nillupa I have seen the email they send the counselors- it says some scholarships and majors ( keep in mind that majors includes review candidates because that is how they get in is through major only). In the past, honors send their notice shortly after this first round but they have already selected their first round of accepts.- so If you applied to honors and you hear today about acceptance or major- it is likely you will hear positive news about your honors program within a few weeks- if things are as they have been in the past. having said that- you never can be sure with UT

Does anyone know if Plan II applicants should expect to hear something back anytime soon?

If you get an acceptance today, please share! I am so anxious about hearing back… does anyone know if non auto admits will receive acceptances anytime soon?

@freshmesh167 plan II can’t release a decision to you until after your major does- so if they were your first choice major and you hear today- you likely will get a plan ii acceptance soon. If you applied outside liberal arts as your first choice major- you likely won’t hear from plan II for a while. @gpop123 traditionally the first batch of majors does include some review candidates- last year, even an out of state person got in on this day. I think most people who hear today are people who have applied for honors though- even though honors decisions are not usually released the first decision day.

Does this first batch tend to only be kids who end up getting accepted into honors or will it include kids who apply to honors and only get into a regular program?

@zjr423 I am not positive about this answer- but from the people i know who have gotten in that first day - they were all accepted to honors. That doesn’t mean these are the only people who ever heard the first day- it’s just been my experience with the ones that I know.

@freshmesh167 Please don’t worry though if you don’t get a Plan II acceptance soon though- I know multiple people who got into their major in the first batch and then weren’t accepted into Plan II until February.

But it is confirmed that there will be decision notifications today?

@gpop123 a letter went out to school counselors saying that around 1000 people would hear today.- nothing ever guaranteed but i have seen the letter.

So 4pm ish tonight?
