UT Austin class of c/o 2022 admissions

It sucks that class rank is so heavily weighted for the non ranked high stats kids.

Iots2do - Are the admission letters including major information or just generic auto admit letters?

Lots2do - congrats on your daughter’s acceptance!

Glad I checked this forum! I forgot to get the mail yesterday and my daughter’s “Gone To Texas!” banner was just hanging out in it. We are in a suburb of DFW. Auto admit #7 out of 446 and she is hoping to get into CNS to major in Neuroscience for Pre-Med.

On another note, anyone else planning on dorming at The Callaway House? My daughter was all about Scottish Rite for years, then toured Callaway and changed her mind.

@austexlonghorn the letter reads:

“Congratulations! I am so pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to the University of Texas at Austin. Welcome to the class of 2022! Your application is being carefully considered for admission to your requested majors. We’ll provide an update with information about your major this spring. For now, know that you’re in - and we couldn’t be more excited!”

@txstudent100 Thank you!

@BelleBlue Congratulations to your DD as well!

I already put the lease down on my room at calloway - those go fast. Harder to get into calloway than it is to get into UT, and we all know that says a LOT haha.

I have twins and we have also already signed our lease at Callaway. You probably need to check ASAP to see what’s still available. We are in a Houston suburb - accepted 10/11 but have received nothing in the mail.

have all auto admission decisions come out or do they come out in waves? My rank is on a letter, not on my transcript, so does it mean that I have not received auto admission if I haven’t gotten a response? I applied in October

Some of my friends who have automatic acceptance haven’t seen their status change either, I wouldn’t panic! @chloebaker162

@chloebaker162 Did you upload your transcript or send in? If you uploaded, there was a screen that asked you to input your rank. Did you do that? If you sent it, someone had to do that in admissions.

Two years ago, I was able to call admissions and ask what rank they had on file for my son and they told me over the phone. His was on a letter too and I was concerned they missed it. You may want to do that to put your mind at ease.

@gettingschooled My college counselor uploaded it. I think it should have gone through. Are all auto admissions released at the same time, or does the letter process just take a little longer?

Anyone know the difficulty of admission to liberal arts or undergrad studies this year???

@chloebaker162 I think this first wave of auto admits was everyone who had a completed app by a certain date. After that date, I think auto admits happen much faster. I’d call admissions and see what they have listed for your rank. We have had experiences with other schools missing the rank letter and thinking our school was non-ranking. It does not hurt to call.

I just got a letter in the mail. A part of it said " As one of our prospective students, we want (my sons name) to experience our campus first-hand" Did anyone else get this in the mail? Is it something everyone gets?

Where do the three short answers go in the ApplyTexas app?

@complexx Depends what the event is called. There are a few events open to all students, but some are invitation only.

After the extracurriculars/employment section, there’s a section called “custom questions” and the short answers should be some of the first questions that pop up. Best of luck in applying! @collegeapp18

Thanks @freshmesh167 !
Also, what is the priority Nov 1 deadline for? Do you find out earlier? And do teacher LOR need to be in by then?

Yes, you find out earlier. Those who apply by the Nov 1st priority deadline find out their decision by February 1st while those who apply by Dec 1st find out by March 1st. All parts of the application must be in by the deadline, except if you plan to apply by Dec 1st, they will accept test scores up until Dec 31st. @collegeapp18

I have submitted my application in September ( way before the November deadline). So will I be hearing back from them before February? @freshmesh167
