Opinions Please?

I do believe UT is ranked higher in terms of engineering, but that is really all that I can tell you.

UT IS AMAZING, SCREW VANDY. :)

...just kidding. Vanderbilt is a wonderful school. However, USNews reports that UT's engineering is ranked 11 while Vanderbilt sits at number 42. Quite a discrepancy, wouldn't you agree? On the other hand, Vanderbilt is more prestigious, over all. (CC'ers that are obsessed with Texas, don't get mad.) Unless you plan to live in texas your whole life/go to grad school in texas, Vanderbilt may be a better choice because of its "brand name" factor.

But honestly its up to you. Yes, the UT engineering progam is ranked better. However, when applying to grad schools, MIT or Stanford may consider a Vanderbilt graduate to be just as if not more worthy as a University of Texas grad. In the end, I think it all boils down to your plans. Either program would be an excellent choice.
