So basically I got capped at UT Austin and i am having to attend UTSA for a year before i transfer. I just got done with UTSA orientation, scheduling my classes, and learning about the program. I have some questions for my future, most of which do not pertain to the CAP program.
I would also like to apologize if this post is all over the place
To start off i would like to enter the UT Austin school of natural sciences for Computer Science, a very competitive school and major. At UTSA i am not taking any Computer Science classes, just core classes for any major. I am wondering if this will affect me being able to get into the CS Major? Basically , i am taking easy classes at UTSA, which will allow me to transfer with a 4.0 GPA (easy) and i am planning on using my free time to build up EC’s with Computer Science, by joining clubs, working on projects, and applying to a lot of internships. So with a 4.0 gpa and these EC’s will i make it into the CS department? Obviously you don’t know for sure but based on your experience i would like a guess. Will the 4.0 and EC’s make up for the fact that i took easy classes which have nothing to do with CS? I read that UT Austin makes GPA a big deal, will they even care about the classes or just the GPA?
