Yes. I hope its not a mistake either. My mail man became the most important person for next several days… :))
Still haven’t heard anything. Does this mean I’m not in first wave?
Anyone know how many waves there are?
They sent out emails today I believe along with updating MyStatus 3 days ago. So, I don’t think you are first wave. Good luck to everyone.
I sent my application in on October 12th. Are the most qualified applicants accepted first? Or is it just random. I also still haven’t heard from Plan ii. Do you think I have a chance?
Received email from CNS Director, Honors Center. She mentioned official letter will be in the mail shortly. Good luck to everyone.
Confirm post #25. I believe those accepted at this point have had their MyStatus page updated & received an email from the Director.
@AkReddy - it seems as if @HoustonTexan has excellent stats & my DS has similar accomplishments so, I would gather they try to notify qualified applicants in the initial round.
I also believe it may have to do some with your intended major. It seems as if they try to have a variety of CNS majors represented in the Dean’s Scholars program.
Wishing everyone the best of luck for the next round!
Does anyone know for sure that DS results are released in waves? We had been told when we visited campus that results could come at any time for CNS honors. My student is auto admit, top two percent, ACT 36, SAT 2300, and applied before Oct. 15. Wondering if we will have to wait till February to hear.
Submitted my DS app in early October… does anyone know if these notifications are based on date of application submission? I have been checking MyStatus every day and still nothing
Congratulations to everyone accepted in the first wave! I haven’t heard back from UT Dean’s Scholars, but I was admitted to Harvard SCEA.
congrats on Harvard @kennyg25
CONGRATS! that’s insane that harvad would accept you before UT. Gives me hope
@HoustonTexan Congrats on your acceptance! I was just wondering, do you have any previous research experience that you believed may have helped you get in? I’ve heard that that plays an important role in the decision and I wanted to see if that was true.
Its hard to say what does it. I did attend UT for a 6-week summer research program in each of Sophomore and Junior year summers. It does help but not sure if that is the difference maker.
@HoustonTexan - just curious if you have received the notification by mail yet? Nothing here yet…
Sure am glad the Director sent the email or we would still be wondering if the MyStatus had been a ‘mistake.’
Nothing in the mail for me either. I am very positive that it’s not a mistake given the email explicitly stated that mail may be delayed.
@HoustonTexan When is the next wave typically?
Sorry. I didn’t see this till now. I am not familiar with the dates and process.
Received the letter in the mail today from Dean’s Scholars. Nice to get the offer in hand
does anyone know if there is any scholarship money tied to the Dean’s Scholar, or is merit money completely separate?
