UT Austin Engineering

Hello!
I'm applying to UT Austin's engineering program as I would like to be a petroleum engineer.
I didn't pass the calculus AP test, but I received an A in my class. I do like calculus, but sometimes believe I may not be fit to be an engineer because of my poor AP test grade.

A little more about me:
I have a 1930 SAT, but will try to improve it.
I am currently ranked 2nd in my class of 497 students.
I took 7 AP classes my sophomore and junior year, and am taking 4 AP's my senior year.

My schedule consists of
Physics H
AP Calc BC
French I H
AP Lit
AP Spanish
AP Gov

I volunteer with my city and am President of CSF. I am also involved with JSA, NHS, and Medical Explorers.

I'm from California!!!

I have a 5.2 weighted gpa and a 4.0 unweighted

Thank you!

I live right by UT!! Definitely get that SAT Score up a lot!( Don’t worry about that AP. )UT’s engineering program is very competitive so you might want to mention in your essays why you love engineering.

Would you suggest applying for the summer/fall or spring deadline?
