UT AUSTIN FALL 2017 EXTERNAL NURSING TRANSFER?!?

I’m currently finishing up my sophomore year at UT Dallas majoring in Biology. For a while, I’ve wanted to transfer to UT Austin for their excellent nursing program. I’ve heard it’s basically a no-go for external transfers since the spots are already extremely limited, especially since they’ve just changed it so that you’re automatically admitted for all 4 years. This is very disappointing to hear since UT has been my dream school for some time now. If anyone could shed some light on this I would appreciate it very much. I’m a nervous wreck.

I’m an Academic Excellence Scholar at UTD with my full tuition paid + $1,000 a semester. I already have around 60 credit hours with several nursing prereqs already completed (UTD doesn’t offer a nursing program).
I received a 4.0 last semester with a cumulative 3.86 GPA.
I have volunteer work in a hospice as well as at a local food pantry.
I graduated high school top 7% in an excellent school district.
No rec letters yet.
Strong essays.

I thought that I had a pretty decent chance at acceptance to the UT nursing program, but now I’m worried. I actually considered transferring to CNS and then transferring to the school of nursing internally after a semester…

Do I have a chance?

Any advice would be great!!

Since internal transfer is much easier, would it be wiser to just apply for transfer to CNS and internally transfer to nursing after a semester? I’m already a Biology major so this would make more sense.

Hey there! I am going to UT San Antonio for the fall of 2017 and am interested in transferring to UT for nursing too! UTSA doesn’t offer nursing either, so I just want to know kinda what classes I need to take while at UTSA? If there are no nursing classes do I need to take certain ones that can transfer over? Or do I just do all my basics? Any & ALL tips for this process will help! Especially from someone who has lived it!
