Is COLA usually first?
@nursingschool120_ that’s what everyone keeps saying. Cola applicants are supposed to get their admission status first
It’s almost April
Idk what’s going on, but I feel like this year there’s more room for transfer students and that’s why they extended the deadline. Also, because they accepted WAY too many freshmen last year, and I think they don’t want to do that again. So whatever is going on. I feel something good is going to happen for us soon and considering how early we went into review.
I posted previously that I called and asked. They said there won’t be any decisions to come out during March. She said more than likely mid-April or May would be the best dates to expect decisions. I think we still have some waiting to do guys. (with that being said, I’m still checking repeatedly everyday, too )
@EVSLOVE good thing March is over this week.
@ryanwharton it couldn’t go by fast enough… I just want it to be April-May already! I would feel so much better if I could see someone at least getting their decisions back. A lot of my friends who applied to COLA are on pins and needles. Hang in there guys.
@ryanwharton I also hope you’re right about them letting more transfers in… last year apparently was brutal.
Hey y’all. Current undergrad at University of Maryland. I am in Marine ROTC. I am a Psychology Major. Is COLA competitive?
By the way, I am an Austin Texas native.
I think it depends on your major… I’m applying for Classics which is super small so it’s a bit easier to get into. Not sure how competitive psychology is…
I’m applying to McCombs for Accounting (Unspecified Business). I didn’t select a 2nd choice major–oops? Can’t change it now.
Transferring from ACC
4.0 GPA
63 hours completed but I’ll have 70 by the end of Spring semester
Finished Associate’s in Business Admin May '18, will earn Associate’s in Economics May '19
2 essays, 1 LOR, lots of volunteering
I submitted my essays the day before the deadline through ApplyTexas and it took a few days for them to be processed but then I was in review immediately after.
Based on last year’s thread showing dates accepted for McCombs, I’m not really expecting to hear before June 15th.
I’ve already been accepted by St. Edwards, my first backup plan. They responded in 6 days and want an answer by May 1st. Told them sorry, will have to wait to hear from UT first.
The reason why it was bad last year because they accidentally let in way too many freshmen and then the amount of transfer students was 3 times the usual amount
@Txgirl99 I kinda think that almost any major at UT is competitive. No one is automatically promised to get in, even with a perfect GPA, scores, or extra curriculums and letters of rec. Lucky, COLA is usually the first group to get their decisions back. Good luck though!
Good luck @ACC2McCombs2019 hope all goes well for you
Omg were in the same boat. I got accepted into St Edwards but I can’t give them an answer by May 1st.
I have accepted (as a CNS transfer) that I will not hear back until May or June. It’s frustrating, but expected.
Anyway, anybody’s back up school UT Dallas?
I am attending transfer orientation on 04/12 so I can register for classes.
Guys, I think today is the day for COLA. I just have a good feeling about it, and my good feelings have a strong tendency to be correct.
@TexasTransfer47 I certainly hope so, but I doubt we will hear anything before mid-april
@TexasTransfer47 I would hope so but I don’t think so, but who knows we’ll see.
