Hi, everyone.
I currently go to Texas State University as a second-year student, studying Computer Information Systems and Accounting. I hope to transfer to the McCombs School of Business in the fall of next year. For the past two semesters, I have maintained a 4.0 GPA and will do my absolute best to continue that streak for this semester as well as the next. Outside of school, I work as a volunteer DJ for my college’s radio station in addition to my job as a part-time math tutor for Mathnasium. As for classes, I have already taken Intro to Financial Accounting, Calculus 1, Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Intro to Microcomputer Applications, and am in the process of completing Business Stats, Intro to Managerial Accounting, Principles of Marketing, Management of Organization, and Visual Programming 1. Next semester, I will hopefully take Intermediate Accounting 1, Intro to Business in a Global Environment (BA), Business Law, Calculus 2, and Business Finance.
Taking all of this into account, can anyone tell me how this looks as a potential transfer student, especially given the unprecedented circumstances involving COVID-19, low enrollment numbers at UT Austin, and virtual coursework? I’d appreciate any insight or advice as to how to maximize my potential. Feel free to share your own journey and information as well.
