UT Austin for architecture?

I’ll be starting college this fall and I’m interested in studying Architecture or Interior Design. My top two schools are UT Austin and Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD). Any recommendations?
UT will be a lot cheaper than SCAD, and since it’s in-state, I’ll be closer to home. I know it has an excellent program, but I don’t know if UT is the right fit for me. I’ve heard it’s really impersonal, and the students are clique-y. I’m not much of a partier, and don’t plan on going greek. I’m pretty studious and somewhat shy, until I get to know people. Also, the size is a little overwhelming, especially because I’m not sure yet if any of my friends will be going there, which would be nice. But I’ve also talked to people who love it.
I’m also considering A&M (and have a good scholarship there), Auburn, and Washington University in St. Louis.

Thanks for any help!

I am curious which school you chose and why. My son is interested in both and would love to get feedback from you
