@oliver17 You’re very welcome! Our DS will be a freshman ECE major in the fall (we have more than one DS)and we have had a lot of UT experience with other kids. If you need anything, feel free to PM me. \m/
@PokeyJoe, I will thanks! love the emoji btw!
Hi - Our son will be a freshman in fall this year. Can you please help explain what is the weed-out process at the end of year 1? Thanks!
@Jujupon I am not sure if you are referring to something specific that you heard about the end of the first year but, there is no specific weed out event that takes place, as far as I know.
One of the advantages of UT engineering is that students come into the program already admitted into their specific engineering major. In fact, they take major specific courses from the first semester.
Students could be said to be weeded out by the rigor of the program. It’s tough to keep those grades up and many will change their major as a result.
Thank you
@ EngPll. How exactly would an incoming freshman go about taking engineering physics at west Texas amu? Summer? Doing ut fall/spring?
@utehaw, I’ve bee looking into my son taking a class at Western Texas. They are very nice there, but the process is a pain. You have to apply to be a student, send in your ACT scores, meningitis vaccine and official copy of your transcript. They won’t let you sign up for a class until they receive all those documents. On the UT website, they have a list of all the classes from Western Texas and what they transfer in as. FYI, Physics is full and has been for awhile. My son is going to take Chemistry on line this summer.
Hi Oliver, can you provide a link to that ut website with a list of classes that transfer?
Thanks

It’s the Automated Transfer Equivalency system. Let me know if this works, good luck
