Okay anyway, I was a home-schooled student online through a college, and I live in Texas and I want to attend UT. My issue is I know UT is "Rank Heavy" and what are my chances? I have a 3.9 GPA I graduated a year early, because like most home schooled students we don't have rankings in out classes.

I'm trying every-way possible to get into this school but it has every thing I'm looking for in my major's.

I would say for you to get in you need to have an excellent SAT score, resume, and essays to account for your lack of rank. UT takes numerous homeschooled students each year because UT recognizes how driven many of them are.

I was also homeschooled through Texas Tech online high school and I am applying to the school of social work (first choice) and COLA - rhetoric and writing (second choice) for the fall of 2013. I have a 3.83 high school GPA and a 3.8 GPA on 21 dual credit hours, a 1980 on my SAT, and good ECs and rec letters. I’m pretty anxious to see what admissions decides in February.

@ Catria - I’ve actually spoken with the counselor at the main Austin admissions office that handles homeschoolers, and there is no set score requirement for homeschooled students. Either way, you’ll be offered CAP if you’re in state so it’s just a matter of being admitted this year or next, at least for me.

@ ElayneCollege - a resume is a document that lists and describes your education, extracurricular involvements and accomplishments. If you haven’t made one yet you can take a look at the Be A Longhorn website. They have a resume template on there somewhere.
