What are my chances of getting into the University of Texas' school of communication?

grades/gpa?

Whoops! Sorry. 3.62 GPA, 37/290 rank.

I don’t know if this matters, but I come from a single-parent, low-income home (approx. $25,000/year).

youll get in most likely depending on how competitive your school is, like at my school kids in top 25% still get into ut (plano if you were wondering)

The top 15% or so of my school is fairly competitive. Anything lower than that is pretty average. The top 10% can be pretty cut-throat, though.

How big of a role will my ECs & awards play? I’m the editor of the student newspaper & was head photographer for the yearbook. Plus, I have all of my journalism awards and actually attended a journalism conference at UT earlier this year.

Bump again?
