UT Austin McCombs Internal Transfer 2017

Hey guys, how does a 3.81 GPA sound like for internally transferring into McCombs? I’ve done all Micro, Macro, and both Calculus classes for the pre-reqs.

Based on history, 3.8 is on the low side of acceptance for McCombs. Its likely you are ok. The lowest I have heard is 3.65, but usually the average is like a 3.85 for internal transfers (3.9+ for external).

Yeah, last year the minimum acceptance gpa was a 3.75, and I am thinking that its only going to raise to a 3.8. I am just scared that it is going to go up to a 3.85, which would be crazy high for a minimum acceptance gpa, but you never know.

I’ve heard the cutoff will be between 3.8-3.85 this year, at least thats what I heard from an advisor

Yeah, the advisor told me to shoot for a 3.85 and that would put me in the safe zone, but I dont know if thats her way of telling me that McCombs is going to systematically raise their minimum acceptance to a 3.85 or what

What’re y’alls GPAs? I’m just trying to gauge the applicant pool. I hope we hear back soon.

The advisor told you 3.85 because that is usually a safe number every year. The minimum changes yearly, and usully goes from 3.65 to 3.75.

I have a 3.74. Really nervous because I heard last year the cutoff was 3.75 :frowning:

What is a super safe GPA? Anything above a 3.85?

Yes above 3.85 is safe I’d say. I have a 3.96 but still nervous idk. I think we are going to find out Friday!

You’re nervous about a 3.96?
