Hi there,
Which among UT Austin, Univ of Michigan and UIUC would be best for engineering? I know Austin is slightly lower in the rankings, but does such a small difference really matter? Moreover I'm an international student (from UAE, Could I call u up Alexandre?) and there's a difference of around 10K in their fee structure? Would'nt I be better off investing that money in my masters? (MBA most likely) Thanks a lot

i doesn't really matter, all 3 are probably the same, in terms of everything, whatever feels good, cheaper, go there.

i think u mich and uiuc have better engineering schools, just by reputation (i know austin is good) i think the deciding factor will be how you feel about the campuses

bump(lol...sry)

What the posters said is basically true. Michigan and UIUC are better programs, but maybe, like you said, you'd be better off investing your moeny in grad school. Get a feel for the social atmospheres and then decide if the combination of better academics AND social atmosphere is worth the extra money. I found that it was, but that was just me.
