UT Austin or UT Dallas?

I want to major in mechanical engineering (might change to electrical), and got accepted to both UTD and UT. I haven't heard about financial aid from UT yet, but I suspect it will be a little difficult to afford UT. UTD on the other hand, offered me the honors scholarship which is full ride all four years and 3000 cash stipend a year. My family lives in Dallas, so that leaves me with basically no expenses.

So should I attend UTD or UT? If I do well enough in college, would I be able to get just as good a job graduating from UTD as I could by graduating form UT? If not, how much difference will it make? Also, if I were to go to UTD first two years and then transfer to UT Austin, would they make it difficult to get accepted into other universities or something like that since I accepted the honors scholarship and wasn't gonna finish there?

I would really appreciate some advice/feedback. Thanks.

well…it might depend on whether you’re doing mechanical or electrical…
UTD just started their mechanical program like a year ago so it has virtually no reputation…
electrical on the other hand has a lot more rep…if you decide to do electrical then your question becomes harder…UTD has a wonderful program but UT is well…UT! In fact I am in same situation, except i’m deciding between UTD and A&M.

You would have a much more complete college experience if you can attend UT Austin. It also has a much stronger reputation.
