UT Austin(Recently Admitted) or UW Seattle(Current)

Hi guys,

I am a sophomore transfer at the University of Washington Seattle and I am an electrical engineering student. I am a junior standing. I got admitted to the University of Texas at Austin recently but I have not decided whether to go to UT yet. May 29th is the deadline is submit the deposit.

Reasons to go to UT:
1. Electrical Engineering ranking at UT Austin is 11th and College of Engineering ranking is 8th, which is higher than UW(EE ranking 20+, COE ranking 20th). It would be more challenging and intense but I can learn more.
2. The career development of ECE program at UT Austin might be better. Large companies would go and hire students there. UW CSE has a lot of opportunities but for EE there are not as many opportunities as UW CSE.
3. I can get a degree in computer engineering at Ut Austin which is better for intern/job search while at UW I will study EE and only take a few CSE classes.
4. UT is more competitive while selecting students, which means the student community might be better than the UW.
5. EE companies at Texas are more than at Washington.
6. It does not rain much in Austin. But this is not critical for me.

Reasons not to go to UT:
1. I will need to have 90 hours in residency at UT, which means I will have to take at least 2.5 years plus summer semester to finish the program. At the UW, I can finish the program in 2 years and I can do a summer intern during next summer.
2. I found a summer intern as a software engineering at Seattle. Because tech giants like microsoft and amazon are in seattle, I will want to try these companies next year.
3. The comprehensive ranking of UT Austin and UW Seattle are similar ( both 52th), I am not sure whether it is necessary to transfer.
4. I will need to get used to the life there again. While in Seattle I am familar with my classmates, professors and living here.
5. I will want to go to graduate school after undergraduate years, possibly earning a PhD degree. It is more difficult to get a high GPA at UT Austin. While at UW, it might be relatively easy.

Could you please give me some suggestions and some information about UT Austin? Thank you so much!

Can anyone give me some ideas? Thank you very much!
