I would be surprised if you got a merit scholarship or honors with your stats. It’s actually fantastic that you got into BME at UT. It’s one of the most competitive majors. But they give out very few scholarships and are trying to get kids who got into the top 5 programs in the country (ie Georgia Tech, Johns Hopkins, Duke to name a few) to pick UT and they do this with merit scholarships and honors programs. Just my opinion.
Would have to concur with the previous user. Honors is almost definitely out of the question as your stats simply aren’t high enough. For reference, my friend who got into Eng Honors was top 2%, 35 ACT, 800 BioM and Math II, and a list of ECs that included research in BME.
I would estimate your chance at a pure merit based scholarship to be zero.
If your parents have an income of <$60,000 per year, then it looks like you would be competitive for the Texas Advance scholarship–but that is competitive as well. I think those have already gone out as well.
