UT Austin School of Engineering

Hello, I’m an Asian American who is ranked 46/429. I am in various clubs such as Spanish Honor Society, NHS, BPA, Tennis, Student Council, Mu alpha theta. Model UN, Unicef, Tech honor society etc…I have also done an internship with nasa, and have 200+ service hours. I got a 28 on my act and a 1340 on my sat, what are my chances of getting into UT austins aerospace program?

It would be tough to get into UT, period, with your rank. I don’t think your chances are good for Cockrell. Can’t hurt to try, though.

Is your school highly ranked or at least rigorous? If you could retake the ACT or SAT and get 30+ or 1400+, you will have a higher chance. Your extracurriculars are strong and should definitely help. Maybe chance me back? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/2006193-chance-me-please.html#latest

Are school is very competitive, however it is a new school that just opened in one of the top 5 isd in texas. I have taken 5 ap test/classes and passed them all. I have a 3.77 gpa and am planning to take the sat again in august. I am also taking 5 more ap classes next year.

I am with the other posters that your chances are not good. To be considered, you need to significantly raise your SAT/ACT score or be close to perfect in math. Do take the SAT again, write a great essay but do apply to other schools.
