We all need to know soon. It takes time to find housing, register for classes, and move to Austin (if you don’t already live there). The deadline to commit to other schools is approaching as well.
All I’ll say here is…I have doubts whether UT cares about how much we are inconvenienced. If we want their university bad enough we are expected “apparently” to put up with this headache.
They give priority to freshmen’s but not to transfers
I’m driving myself crazy checking this and MyStatus multiple times a day. I get really hopeful one minute and the next I’m doubtful I ever had a shot.
I’m losing hope of getting in The wait is agonizing I really want to know the decision and be done with it
@hanjhutch they’ll send you an email that your mystatus page has been updated
Do we know is anyone has gotten accepted for spring? they already have orientation registration out, but we don’t know if we’ve been accepted, how does that even work? I hope they decide soon bc I have to put an enrollment deposit down on my other school by dec 1st
@hanjhutch I got accepted to baylor today but they didn’t send me an email until hours after I saw it on my go baylor login, it’s worth checking UT’s my status religiously rather than relying on email
My cousin applied for fall 2018 and apparently UT sent out a wave of admissions for most of the transfers at the same time. So most transfers knew their decision at the same time however that was 2-3 days before the last date UT set to be giving out decisions.
On their page it says decisions release in mid November but whenever someone calls they give different answers
@utbabe, and everyone else: I was “very” confident when Oct 1st came and went. Since that time I’ve come to accept this school, “UT” wants very much to become a combo of CAL/Stanford/UCLA with very selective elitist admissions that likely don’t forgive mistakes. UT can say they do a “holistic” review of their applicants, but I haven’t seen many examples of that approach on these boards, or any others. Have you? Imagine making a 4.0 in your last 67 hours of Uni and still fearing rejection! Hello?, that’s me. One crap semester well over a decade ago.
I think UT wants and needs near perfection. So for all you young adults that have great high school grades, some AP courses, 30-40 hours of in class university coursework with high gpa’s, decent resume and LOR’s, and great essays you likely are exactly what UT is wanting. I have *massive doubts on whether UT actually entertains offering acceptance to any other type of student?. I do hope I’m wrong?.
I was told that they prefer transfer students with less than 60 hours, as they require your final 60 hours be completed in residence.
That’s fine by me. I’m going for a 2nd degree. My first was a BA. This time I’ll be getting a BS. If I’m accepted UT will obviously require my last 60 hours–fine by me??. I worked hard to save $ so I don’t have to work whilst completing this 2nd degree. It’ll either take 2 years, or 3 semesters and an entire summer school session. After that MCAT---->on to medical school.
Any acceptances for the spring yet??
Nope @camrodriguez
We all will need a holiday in the south of Spain after enduring this process???.
@sith77 either that or a butt load of alcohol - wait - already doing that - then AA meetings will be needed.
I know right. It’s a vodka night fo sho!
I don’t live in Austin and I’ve to make sure that I get in so that I can start my preparation to move, etc. On the UT website, for transfer decision, it’s mentioned that they’ll give out the decisions within November 15. But it’s November 15 today and yet nothing! I am so restless. And I know a lot of you are too. The deadline for other universities to confirm is coming too. I really don’t know what I am going to do and how I am going to handle this wait.
im a psych major
