UT Austin: Spring Transfer 2019 Thread

I haven’t heard of decisions being released on the weekend

I got rejected for the fall on a Saturday

Yes, in June, for Fall semester, they gave out a lot of rejections on a Saturday, following a wave of acceptances.

so I just got rejected from CNS public health. 4.0, several hours, really good essays, and letters of recommendation. the thing is, since I’m a freshman, they wanted me to send my transcript after my first semester, so they don’t have my grades yet…? how can they reject me without seeing the fact that I just got a 4.0 (most likely)? I was going to send my transcript on December 17 (when the grades are due at UH)

You need to appeal! It’s possible they reached their max of acceptances before they could even evaluate your grades! It’s possible ppl will decline and you’ll have the opportunity!

dang, when did you hear?

For those who are curious,

The current total known & verbally confirmed Audit stats are…
Audit Access-Accepted : 10
Audit Access-Denied : 2 (Fall 2018) 1 (spring 2019)
Restricted Audit-Accepted : 2
Restricted Audit- Denied : 2
Accepted w/unknown Audit: 16
Denied w/unknown Audit: 3

@habbas0723 Did you, by any chance submit a transcript showing your courses in progress? I did earlier this semester along with my dual credit transcript from HS and they said I had 21 credits (9 from AP) instead of just 12. They told me that I was 3 credits short and they can’t evaluate me until I get the rest of my credits in. Maybe if you did what I did, they evaluated whatever courses you already took and combined it with your AP credits. If I submitted all of my AP credits to UTSA, then my GPA would have been 3.5 with the minimum amount of credits but since I’m short, I will have a 3.76 if I keep a 4.0 at UTSA. I found out yesterday so maybe you ran into the same situation.

Also, my mystatus hasn’t changed and still has the message about the 24 hours and transcript by January 7th.

shoutout to the people that are announcing their rejections!! i’m sorry to hear that, but it is greatly appreciated that you are still updating your stats and informing of ut’s decision, and good luck to you all (accepted or not), wish you all the best

additionally, my application is still in review for COLA - psychology BA, my GPA is 3.59 (expected to go up at the end of this semester, not that it matters), but at this point i have completely lost hope about getting accepted

@HornHopeful19 I should call them right? also don’t appeals take forever? I’m mad bc I talked to multiple counselors at the admissions office and they said it’d be no problem to send my transcript after my university finalises them for the semester

@student214415315 they didn’t send an email so lmao who knows? I checked at around 10 pm central time

@seanq1 hey is there any way I could contact you outside of this thread? also, I did send a transcript with credits in process in September, but I never had the message about transcript by January 7th… I’m literally gonna have a 4.0 once grades are in at UH

@seanq1 also I had no credits done bc I’m a freshman right now. I just had AP scores on my transcript and no transferable gpa, which is why they said to send the transcript again later… ugh

Yes, you should definitely call them. There might be some kind of mistake since they sent a decision before receiving your final transcript.

@123vca this entire situation is aggravating. how can they claim to do a holistic review without final grades for freshman transfers??

I did the audit thing and I can access it, but none of the courses show completion, including the courses from my dual credit transcript. But since I can access it, is that what y’all mean by audit access?

@habbas0723 appeals don’t take forever. However I don’t know if you will be able to wait until you get your grades to submit the appeal. It might cut it a little close for you but I don’t know where in the world you reside or your housing situation. It’s worth a shot. Last years thread there was a woman who wrote about how her son was denied, he appealed and was admitted the following week.

Call first thing Monday morning.
Unless there is something else wrong with your application, they need to wait for your pending transcript.

@hanjhutch what do you mean you don’t think I’ll be able to wait till the grades are done?
