So i have applied to transfer to UT in for spring 2010. I graduated high school with 30 dual credit hours so I am eligible to apply. I am currently at UH and am taking 15 hours. My GPA from the DC courses is a 4.0. I sent 2 letters of rec and in my essays explained that i didnt like UH and some other medical reasons that prevented me from going there straight out of hs. I'm in phi theta kappa, deans list twice, and lots of extracurriculars. I hope to get into biomed. engineering but my second choice is biochem. (pre-med as well)

can anyone let me know what they think my chances?

and when does UT usually send out decisions for the spring?

I’d say your chances are very good. Natural sciences is competitive, but not as bad McCombs or Cockrell, and your GPA is awesome. Admissions has told several of us we’ll hear anywhere from now through the middle of next month, which is a little too vague for me. A&M has already started notifying people, and you’d think that since many applicants there also apply to UT, UT would try to step up their game and notify us relatively soon. Not sure if you’ve found the UT specific board, but there are several of us spring transfer hopefuls there - it helps to have a bit of a support group when we’re neurotically checking our status page every day. Good luck!
