UT Austin Transfer. Chance me please!

Hi, I am applying as a transfer student to UT Austin for the fall 2009 and I am actually enrolled at UT Pan American and my major is economics. What are my chances? This are my stats:

-College GPA is 3.17
-Have pretty good essays and I am enrolled at students associations in UT Pan American
-Good letters of recommendation from the dean and the chair and my economics professors
-Economics is at the College of liberal Arts at Austin and I am U.S citizen and texas resident.
-ECs: Fundraising commitee at college, community service mission trip in South Mexico, work experience at a very important insurance company (summer internship).
-I am a hispanic and my first language is spanish though.

Finally, could anyone tell me if they are going to review my application in May or afterward? if they reject me can my spring classes be an important factor to possibly be accepted, because defenitely my GPA is going to be around 3.3-3.4

what year are you? what are your hs stats? if you are a freshman, which it looks like you are, your hs stats will have more weight than one semester of college

and how can you possibly know that your gpa is going to "defenitely" be a 3.3-3.4 at the end of this semester

you should have received your decision well before you get this semesters grades back, they will not look at this semesters grades except in the rare occassion that you are on the fence and they request midterm grades

thanks very much for your reply. I am a sophomore but I did not mention that, I am sorry and I did not mention my high school stats because Ut Austin does not ask for them. I did high school in mexico but I am a U.S citizen and texas resident, anyways my high school GPA was 86 which is like 3.05 GPA I know for sure that I will have all A´s this semester because I have created and habit on myself which is going to definy my character and I really want to transfer and I am being very positive and putting a lot of effort on it. In addition last semester at UT Pan American I got an

A: Macroeconomics
A: calculus
A: astronomy
A: Rethoric composition II
B: Political Science

( UT system does not have A- and A+, is jus straight A´s B´sn etc.)

a 3.1 from a 4th tier school probably wouldnt normally be competitive, but i guess it depends how much of a factor your residency is
