UT Austin Transfer, Realistically whats the chances?

I'm currently an exercise science major at UT Arlington, and I'm really wanting to transfer down to Austin for the fall of 2011. Just finished up my 3rd semester, and now I'm currently at 31 completed transferable credits (15 more in the spring, plus summer courses,) cumulative GPA of 3.517, two major choices are first and foremost College of Education (exercise science) and second: College of Liberal Arts (psychology.) I have A's in both of my introduction courses for both of those majors if that means anything. Really don't have an interest in seeking a degree in Psych (my heart is set on going to Physical Therapy school after exercise science for undergrad), just know COLA is one of the "easier" majors to transfer into next to College of Education, and I figured having an A in a Psych class would look better than one I have zero experience in. As far as student organization and volunteering I have very little, How ever this semester I did get involved with the Young Conservatives of Texas chapter at my university. Also letters of recommendation from UT Kinesiology Alumni's (again not sure if this helps any.) And as far as the essays go, I feel that I have three solids one right now that hopefully are more unique and stick out from the majority of applicants.

I'll be sending in my application within the next week, just out of pure curiosity and for the sake of making possible roommate arrangements for the following year, what do you think my chances realistically are? I would greatly appreciate any opinions or past experience any one has had with a similar situation.

thank you for your time.
Chaz

bump, I would appreciate any advice.

I believe you have a decent chance.

thanks, I sent in my application a few days ago soo I guess we’ll wait and see!

I believe you have a pretty good chance. Just keep your GPA above a 3.5 and you should be fine. Remember UT will not be as easy as UT Arlington so focus on getting good grades when you transfer. UT’s education program in ranked in the top ten in the US so that should give you an idea on how challenging it will be.

Thanks stealth settings, UT’s high ranking in the education department is one of the reasons I’m hoping this work out for grad school purposes. I plan on focussing hard on my grades down there next year since my GPA will be starting fresh.
