UT Austin vs Cal Poly SLO Computer Science

<p>I need some guidance on which school in the long run might be a better choice. </p>

<ol>
<li>I am a transfer student In-State for Cal Poly SLO and OOS for UT-Austin.<br></li>
<li>Any major advantages or disadvantages to the two?<br></li>
<li>Is the quality of the education way better at UT-Austin than Cal Poly SLO to justify the OOS costs at UT-Austin?</li>
<li>Is Austin (or Texas) a better long term prospect for technology than Silicon Valley?</li>
</ol>

<p>Cal Poly is very respected for engineering and computer science. UT and SLO are on the same level academically. If you want to work in California, I think it would be the ideal choice. So, I don’t see any reason to turn down 7k per year tuition and pay 34k no matter how much money you have.</p>
