UT Austin vs Purdue

I got into Purdue university and am still to recieve a decision from UT Austin. Incase i get in which do you think will be a better school for chemical engineering. For me social life and academics are the 2 biggest factors in deciding a school. What do you guys think ?

I’m sure you want student input but I’ll give you input from a parent bystander. I am familiar with student life at Purdue and UT. Academically both are excellent for chem e. Purdue is a great school but since you say social life and academics are your two biggest factors, I have to say, socially, the better school is clearly, clearly, clearly UT. UT students have so much fun it is almost unbelievable. The weather, the football, the music in the city of Austin. Purdue absolutely cannot compete.
Top 10 Chemical Engineering programs: #7 UT.

Enough said.

UT-Austin by a landslide in terms of social life. Purdue is in the cornfields. Both schools are really good for engineering though.

Both are great engineering schools. UT Austin has a top 10 program in Chem E, though Purdue isn’t far off. I haven’t been to Purdue, but I sincerely doubt it has as much to offer socially as UT. Austin is a great city and the social scene is incredible.
