Find out from the engineering division and biomedical engineering department at Washington about how competitive entry to the biomedical engineering major will be there.

Is she pre-med? If so, look more strongly at lower cost options to save money for medical school. If she wants to practice medicine in inland southern California, UCR has this program: Thomas Haider Early Assurance Program | School of Medicine Student Affairs

Good point. She is not taking the pre-med route. She wants to do data science and bio-medical engineering. Might end up doing post grad also but at this point it is a TBD
