UT Austin VS USC Business Undergrad

Hey everyone, I got accepted into the business schools of UT Austin and USC. Sadly, I didn’t know UT had the BHP program until it was too late, as I am from CA. I am having trouble deicding vetween McCombs vs Marshall, no BhP. I intend to major in finance, and apply into BHP my second year if I go to Texas.
I know UT is less well regarded overall, but its business school is better ranked than USC’s. I know USC is very big on entrepreneurship and Tech, while Texas is big on Finance and Accounting. It is important to note though that Austin is becoming like the new Silicon Valley. It has lower taxes, is attracting many tech, pharmaceutical, and biotech firms, has many energy sector and finance sector opportunities, as well as great real estate developement opportunities. USC, being in LA, has access to much of the entertainment and fashion industry, but I coudn’t think of anything else. Finances asside, which school has a better Reputation in the world of business? Which would provide better opportunities?

This is really a difficult decision for me, and I would appreciate any advice or knowledge.
Thank you!

I actually believe USC is very good at finance and accounting, and given UT is in high-tech Austin, its business school would likely be very strong in high tech entrepreneurship.

If you want to live in California after school, USC would give you a slight advantage. If you want to live in Texas after school, UT would give you a slight advantage. Otherwise, I’d say it’s a wash.

Sounds as if you like Austin. It wouldn’t hurt to experience life outside of California for a few years. My main concern with UT would be huge freshman and sophomore classes, but that doesn’t bother some people.

Agreed with above guy. Go where you feel more comfortable and where you want to work later. Both are such good b schools that it will be pretty negligible.

Thanks for your help! It is a really tough decision and I will continue to do research. I don’t care where I work, as long as I do well. I plan on going into Real Esate and Finance so both areas a good. Maybe get an MbA latter. My dream was Wharton but I was rejected, so I can always apply for graduate school there or as a transfer.
