Hey guys, my situation is as follows:

Accepted to both as a Business undergrad. I have applied for the Business of Cinematic Arts program at USC and that is quite selective, so if I get in, it will be rather significant. I am not sure what type of business I want to go into, but I have a huge interest in film and would love to have some involvement in it later on. I like both the schools equally, but where UT has advantages, USC has them in different aspects. I know both are great programs but which school would you guys pick and why?

bump

Please help guys, I would love your feedback!

i applied there too (also that program good luck!). USC is well known for it’s film connections/hollywood. if you want to work in california then go fir it.

It depends on what you want to do. If you want to go into the film industry, USC is the obvious choice.

However, UT-Austin McCombs School of Business is a lot better business school than USC’s. It will provide you with more opportunity in the business field. USC will also cost more, even if you are OOS at UT.

Also, you have to think about college life. USC’s isn’t exactly in the safest part of LA. While Austin, affords a safe, college student friend environment. It has almost everything LA has to offer except for the crime and traffic.

Do you think a USC degree can get me hired off the bat in Texas? Or a UT degree in California vice versa?
