UT Austin without SAT/ACT

hey guys

on the last sat date, i wasn’t able to take the test because my id was expired and invalid, (I didn’t know the SAT required an id until i printed the admissions ticket lol) and i was wondering, what happens to your UT admission if you don’t have the scores but you’re still in the top 8%? I heard that you need the scores regardless, and I don’t know what to do now. If I postpone the test until after the deadline for the scores submission, what happens?

UT Austin requires SAT or ACT. If you submit neither, the typical process followed by universities, and most likely UT Austin, when required materials such as test scores are missing beyond the time they should be there, is that they send a notice, usually in January, informing you of the deficiency and telling you that the test scores need to be sent pormptly.Thereafter, if no test scores come promptly, your application will be denied for failure to provide required materials. Basically a computer or clerk decides your fate. Your file will never actually be looked at by anyone who makes formal admisison decisions because those persons do not get any application files to review until they are complete, meaning all required materials are contained in the file.

didn’t you have your school ID?

You need to contact UT and ask. They may ask why you waited until the last test date. In the future, don’t procrastinate. Don’t wait until the last date to do something. Something might happen on that last day…illness, car accident, family emergency, etc.
