Does anyone know when people are invited for interviews with BHP? And, about how many people are even invited?
i was told that i received an interview on 10/16, and i had my interview on 10/18. i submitted my application fairly early, though, (10/8) so i wouldn’t worry about it. as for how many people are invited, i couldn’t find statistics anywhere. i’d love to know though, so let me know if you find out!
I was told I received an interview on the 20th and finished it today! I submitted on 10/10 for anyone wondering. My guess is that everyone who submitted very close to the deadline will start receiving requests soon. I can’t find that statistic anywhere either.
@idkschool @iknitsweatersyo how was the interview? What type of questions were asked?
When do decisions start to come out? I am OOS and I applied by the priority deadline and I already had my interview.
@zuminskee it was very, very casual. i saw on here that it was casual and didn’t believe it, which turned out to be a mistake. the first quarter or so was almost awkward because of how formal i was being as opposed to how casual my interviewer was, but once i loosened up, it was a lot of fun because he and i got along pretty well. i think the general “why ut/bhp” is obvious, but i would prepare 1-2 anecdotes that can be used for any kind of “tell me about a time when _____” question. i’m pretty sure there’s some kind of database online where they can pick what they want to ask from a set of questions and then enter your answers in (my interviewer kept repeating what i said to make sure that he had it right) so the content is as important as sounding likable.

Hi, I have applied to BHP and Engineering Honors and submitted both of my apps on October 13th. When can I hear back at the earliest? I gave my BHP alumni interview 3 weeks ago!!
End of November? December? When is the earliest batch released?

Last year, the first batch of BHP heard mid to late November.
@iknitsweatersyo I had a similar experience! My interviewer and I decided to meet up since we were both in Austin and the interview was extremely casual. I definitely overdressed and worried too much beforehand.
@zuminskee The interviewers had a sheet of about 4 questions given to them, which were pretty basic questions with a lot of room to go in detail and be free with your answer. Another purpose of the interview is to get to know more about the alumni’s experience in the BHP, so you will probably just have a conversation about UT, McCombs, and the program sometime after or throughout the interview.
