I have my phone interview for UT BHP on Wednesday.
Any sample interview questions from BHP grads or other applicants?
It was an easy, friendly conversation. Softball questions like what are you best at and worst at. Left with a good feeling.

My son has a BHP interview scheduled for later this week. From the mail we received, it sounds like they do not interview all applicants but a select portion of applicants are interviewed. I have a couple of questions:
- Being selected for an interview for BHP – is that a good sign ( as I would think that not being selected would mean that they are not considering the applicant for BHP).
- If anyone has had an interview with a BHP Alumni – what type of questions/ information they are interested in knowing about the applicant ? or What is the theme of the interview?
Any advise from a BHP hopeful applicant or admitted BHP student would be very much appreciated. Thanks
@TinTintoo My son went through this same process in the fall. The only way to get into BHP is to have an interview. Not everyone who interviews is accepted into BHP, but if you don’t interview you can’t get in. So, it’s a good sign! 
My son’s interview was very friendly and laid back. He was nervous going in, but 5 minutes into the 30 minute phone conversation he was just being himself and got a lot of good information.
We found out a week later that he was accepted into BHP.
Just tell your son to be himself, have a few questions ready to ask about the program and to make sure he remembers what he put on his resume. My son’s interviewer had a copy and used that as a starting point for their conversation.

I had my interview on the 14th. Anybody know/guesstimate when I’ll get my decision? I know it’s before early March.

@SATX53 How did you find out your son was accepted? Was it a letter, email, Mystatus update, etc? Anxiously awaiting!!
@hnef27 My son got a phone call. I think that’s how everyone finds out. A week or two later we got the official letter in the mail. His status has never updated. It shows he was accepted by Plan 2, but BHP still shows in review. Good luck! I hope you get good news!
@galore We got an email a few weeks ago from BHP saying the remainder of the class would be selected sometime in February. That’s not much help, but it means you should know this month. Good luck!
@SATX53 thanks! Unfortunately I’ll be out of the country for winter recess week without a phone (those damn international charges are sky high!) … so hopefully I hear before the 14th or after that week or else I’ll get the voicemail when I get back I guess
This may sound stupid, but did we have to apply for Plan II for the BHP? I thought they were separate.
@hnef27 They are separate. He just applied to both. But they are totally different programs, so no worries.

I’m not attending UT unless I get BHP though, but this is one tiny step closer.
@galore… if not BHP, what is the other option(s) you are thinking about over McCombs ?
Really hoping for the W&L Johnson or SMU President’s Scholars.
I can finish McCombs regular in 2 years though (past credit at UNT), but I don’t know if that’s a good idea.
