So here's the deal, I know I may sound a little idealistic but I just want to know what do y'all think I should do after graduating from High School.

I recently got rejected from Texas A&M no Blinn team offers nor gateway, just completely rejected. I got accepted to the University of Houston but only at Undergraduate Studies. I planned to go there but only if it was for Business at Bauer. And I also got offered the CAP program but only at UTPA, UT Tyler, and UT El Paso, I didn't meet the SAT requierements for neither UTSA or UTA. Do you guys think I will be able to complete the CAP requirements and go to UT Austin? or would it be a safer bet to just stick with Uof H and after completing Undergrduate Studies going to Bauer?

I think a would have a better shot at UTPA for getting that 3.2 GPA instead of going to Houston and somehow transfering to UT.

I was even considering getting an Economics Major instead at UT instead of a Business one at UH since I know McCombs is highly competitive.

I also had the same question I haven’t received my admission letter from UH, I hope I get accepted in there. I have been checking my options of CAP and apparently if you go to COLA your sophomore year then try an internal transfer into McCombs you got a good chance. As long as you can maintain a 3.9 GPA, of course.

An Economics major is as valuable as a Business major, especially if you have a good GPA and internships.
You need to look into class sizes (the smaller the better) and support services (math center, writing center, tutoring center, by apointment or “walk in”?), to see which universities will offer you the best odds of suceeding at college.

Im thinking of going to Bauer then try a transfer with a good GPA

Not to sound like an a-hole but, if you couldn’t get into UTSA based on your scores, then you won’t fair to well at UT. I got capped and will be transferring to UT from UTSA this August. I got one “B” the first semester and an A- this semester. You would probably put yourself in a better position by going to UH but if you really want to go to UT and are willing to work, I say go for it. Just know that you will likely have a hard time if you couldn’t get into schools like UTSA through CAP. A lot of people try and sugar coat things when dealing with college and new students but that’s the reality of it. You will either work hard or just work, your intelligence and ability to learn can’t be measure by us.

Under these conditions, I would go with UHouston. Transferring, changing schools (ie., habits, professors, friends, campus…) is hard already, but since your odds of transferring into UT Austin are so thin I say go to UHouston and do your utmost there – go to office hours, get to know your professors (=let the professors know you during office hours), get involved in clubs, use tutoring services and study groups, ask for help whenever you feel confused. UHouston has good placement in business anyway.

Have to agree with MYS1634. Houston is a great school and you will have a wonderful time there.

I would try for CAP at UT… Houston’s perception isn’t any better than the other UT’s.
