UT CAP program doesn't accept dual credit?

Ok... Everything I find on UT's website, as well as thr other branch campuses, seem to say that UT does not allow transfer of any dual credits in the CAP program. Can anyone shed some light on this or tell me if it's even true?

Where are you seeing this?

It says here on UT Austin’s website - [Frequently Asked Questions about CAP | Be a Longhorn](http://bealonghorn.utexas.edu/cap/admission/faq)
Read under “COURSEWORK AND TRANSFERABLE CREDIT”

This is what it says:

“May I count placement credit or summer courses toward the 30 hours?”

"No, you must take at least 30 hours of required transferable coursework while you are enrolled at your selected UT System university in the fall and spring.

When you enroll in UT Austin during the fall semester following your CAP year, any placement credit that you have earned (from Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or dual credit courses in high school, for example) will be evaluated for credit beyond your 30 hours and accepted according to UT Austin’s standard policies.

UT Austin expects you to take all of your required CAP coursework while you are enrolled for the fall and spring semesters at your selected UT System university. If you do have additional coursework that you think is transferable when you enroll at UT Austin, the university will consider those courses for transfer credit."

Also here on UT Arlington’s website: [UT Coordinated Admissions Program (CAP) - University College - The University of Texas at Arlington](http://www.uta.edu/universitycollege/current/academic-planning/uac/UTCAP.php)

"7. I took dual enrollment courses during high school. Will those courses count toward my 30 CAP hours?

No. Your 30 CAP hours must be earned during the Fall and Spring semesters. Your dual enrollment courses will more than likely transfer to UT Austin, but cannot be counted toward your 30 CAP hours. Please send your community college transcript to UT Arlington and UT Austin."

You can transfer the dual credit hours to the university you attend for CAP, but you must complete 30 hours in residence at your CAP school to fulfill the CAP contract requirements. IOW, you must complete 30 hours at your CAP school above that which is transferred using dual credit. Or, you can wait to transfer those credits once you are admitted to UT-Austin.

Either way, you won’t “lose” those credits, but they don’t satisfy CAP hours requirements.

Hm… That makes more sense. I guess I read that incorrectly. Thanks for clearing that up. :)
