What does your rank or percentage have to be in order to be capped?

If you were not in the top 9% this year then you got CAP’ed. I think there were some people that got flat out rejected but your grades must be really bad to get a rejection. Pretty much everyone gets CAP’ed if not in the top 9%

only 75% of admitted students are top 9%… The other 25% are non auto admits/out of staters

I think everyone who doesn’t get accepted gets Cap’d

My son has a roommate this year at UTSA who was not accepted to UT and was not CAP’d. Everyone does not receive the CAP option, at least not last year.

As long as all requirements are met, applicants are offered CAP. Test scores and class ranking determine which of the CAP schools the student is eligible to attend, however.

So basically everyone gets caped?

“Most Texas freshman applicants who arent admitted to The University of Texas at Austin are offered participation in the Coordinated Admission Program (CAP).”
