UT Class of 2017

Congratulations Acelia and everyone that recieved their admission decisions!!!
Did you check your MyStatus during the weekend when you found out about your decision? I am currently waiting for my decision for McCombs. I don’t know if I should check MyStatus on the weekends. Are decisions for majors only made during weekdays?

@Eric2017 I found out Thursday afternoon… And msot of my friends who found out about their majors also found out on Thursday/Friday/or a weekday!

Congratulations somelikeitsimple!!!

Eric, yeah I checked mine on Sunday actually, and I saw it then. I know that is wasn’t updated on Friday, so the weekends factor in I suppose.

Any out of state acceptances yet? I applied in mid October and still haven’t hear back. Will out of state kids not hear until Febrary?

Currently, I am still waiting for my admissions decision.
What stats will give an applicant (in-state) the best chance to be accepted into their first choice major. My highest SAT score was 2050 (670, 700, 680). All of my 6 AP tests were either a 4 or a 5. My rank is 1 out of 530. Both my essays and my resume are acceptable. Thanks for answering everyone!! Also, congratulations to everyone who got into their first-choice major!!

Just had my interview. Ehhh… I don’t know I guess I could have done better. Was getting nervous during it. Interviewers was nice though. Hopefully I’ll find out soon I’m in or not. At this point I just want to get into McCombs.

I didn’t hear back yet, but my friend got into UT yesterday. She goes to the same school as me in Pennsylvania and was accepted into the education college

Any idea when kids who applied to McCombs from OOS hear back? Hopefully sometime this month or early next!

I applied back in November, got accepted to UT in December, and I found out yesterday I was accepted under Undeclared/PrePharmacy Studies.

Woo! Now I just have to get around to starting that housing contract…

Hey I applied to Mccombs in October. I received my admission into the University in November (auto admit) but I still have not been accepted into Mccombs.

I have a 4.0 taking the hardest classes at my private college prep school, 30 ACT, tons of extracurriculars with leadership positions.

Anyone think I’ll get in, or when I’ll find out?

Hey guys! Firstly, congrats to all that are accepted and good luck to everyone waiting!

I applied ON December 1st (haha, procrastination at its finest) and just heard back (auto-admit) from Plan II and Liberal Arts Honors, and got into both. Is anyone else accepted into Plan II? I’d be really interested to hear thoughts about it. I’m not going to commit until April because I’m waiting on 8 other schools (HAHA. Kill me now).

Also, I have a lot of friends who are auto-admits like me and who applied to Plan II and haven’t heard back, yet. It seems like the adcoms kind of release everything sporadically.

Also - this is such a dumb question. But is Plan II really THAT selective? I seriously know nothing about it…heh.

No, Plan II is not as selective as Harvard, Yale, Princeton, Stanford; if that’s what you were asking about. But it’s definitely a great program of great value.

Hey AeryGold, I was accepted into Plan II back in November! You should read some of the comments in the Plan II Acceptance Letter thread to see some opinions on the program.

Applied in September, was accepted into McCombs last night. Super stoked! Hook 'em!

@Hookem
Congrats!
do you mind posting your stats please?

Cwillbounds - Thanks! Congrats to you, by the way

goldtx - duh. I’m not an idiot. Not only is the acceptance rate much higher, but the applicant pool is incredibly less qualified for Plan II and lacks the depth of an Ivy/Stanford/MIT applicant pool. I was asking about its selectivity in the context of other UT honors programs and other public honors colleges in general.

Dean’s Scholars is the most selective honors program at UT.

If you don’t mind me asking HookEmHorn02, what are your stats?

Just for you guys who want stats one of my friends got into McCombs yesterday she had

Rank 3/240
GPA 4.0
28 hours of dual credit with a 4.0
1380/2040 SAT score
Exceptional Essays and Recommendations
A **** load of EC’s and Clubs and leadership
