UT Comp Sci

So I did not get into the UT Computer Science program at UT, and did not get my second choice major either (Computer Engineering). Since I am auto-admit to UT though, they are allowing me to pick another major. Should I pick the School of Undergraduate Studies, Undeclared? (since there are no majors that they offer me to pick from that are related to technology or math) How difficult is it to internally transfer after a year into computer science? Also, I have heard of appealing to UT, but I am not sure what that exactly is. Is it common to receive your major after appealing?
I have already received admission into the computer science major at University of Houston, A&M, and UT Dallas, but I really want to attend UT!

Any advice/opinions/knowledge on this topic would be really appreciated!! Thank you!

If you really want to study CS, I would go to the school you like second best. You can try transferring to UT after a year if you have the GPA. There are no guarantees that you will be able to get into UTCS, either internally or externally.

What are your stats like? Are you strong in math and STEM stuff?

Go to A&M - It’s a great school.

Going into UT as an undeclared major, hoping to get into engineering is academic suicide. The admissions rate is 10% for internal transfers and that’s assuming that your GPA is about a 4.0. You actually have a better chance of getting into Duke University than getting into UT’s CS program as an internal transfer. You’re far better off going to Texas A&M if you’re already in the program. In fact, the rankings are almost equal to UT.
