Well I guess I didn’t get any AES scholarship so hope others had better luck
I still haven’t gotten AES. I have a 1430 SAT and no notification. Has anyone else received a notification?
@Shadowsych maybe they aren’t done reviewing yet and they accidentally posted the update on their website
@Shadowsych @Donald24 They wouldn’t just accidentally post that. They are done reviewing people until 01/04/2018. If you didn’t get it then you didn’t get it. I didn’t get it either. SAT scores aren’t the only things they look at. I didn’t get it although I was qualified in everything except SAT scores. So even if you get 1430, it’s not a guarantee of award. I would call them and ask why you didn’t receive it.
@Donald24 @Pro1234 Their AES website says that “third-party and institutional scholarships paying tuition are applied with your AES.” I did actually receive full tuition paid off for UTD due to government Texas grants and a Pell grant. That might be the reason as to why I didn’t receive AES.
Since they’ve done reviewing application prior to Jan 4, and I got admitted on Jan 11, when will I receive my AES? Can I send them my Mid-Year grades report to increase my chance of getting the scholarships?
Can someone who received the AES notification share how they received the notification? Was it via an email or somewhere on the portal?
I got a 1480 and 4.0 GPA. Didn’t get any form of AES. I was admitted on November 26th.
I got ACT 32 and Good grades (International). Good ECs . I was admitted Nov 30. Didn’t receive any AES yet.
Can anyone send me draft for contacting AES office via email
I got accepted on November 13th and I haven’t heard anything either. It doesn’t make any sense that I haven’t qualified for anything, especially the achievement. Even if they look at it on a holistic approach, I think I would be considered with my stats. I got a 35 ACT and my gpa is slightly low (3.7) but I have a lot of volunteering hours. I’m so scared! And when I called, they were like “I can forward your concern with your NETID, but you may not have received it.” Shouldn’t we get a notice saying that we did not qualify for a specific reason?
@icymusca It makes no sense. Something is not right. You should have got Distinction at least
My stats are the following with my SAT being my weakest one:
*SAT: 1340
*Class Rank: 2/304
*GPA: 3.9608/4 and 4.5490/5
*Computer Science is my major, classes I’ve taken to prepare: AP Calculus AB (5), AP Chemistry (3), AP Computer Science A (4), AP Statistics (4), AP Calculus BC (this year), Advanced Computer Simulations (part of a magnet program), AP Physics C:E&M (this year), AP Seminar (this year).
*Total AP Classes: 7 in total last school year, 12 in total this school year.
I did NOT get any AES from UTD even-though I think I projected being part of the batch that got the minimum aes award. I’m going to try to take the ACT in February and get a 32. I wish everyone the best, especially those who were within the target range to get an award! We still have until March to try to our best! Be positive!
I’m sincerely just worried because I won’t be able to afford UTD without this scholarship and will probably have to go to UNT or UTA, both of which I have not applied to. I applied to HealthCare Studies, and I know I did get two Cs in freshman year and in middle school, but would that impact my chances of being offered this scholarship? I got all straight As junior year, and I’ve worked very hard. It’s just disappointing to not have heard anything. I did, however, email them just know and when I hear back, I will let y’all know! Good luck to everyone; I hope you hear something well.
I emailed them too. I’ll let you guys know. @icymusca I don’t think the C’s affected your chances. I have straight As and Bs and I didn’t get it either. I’m in the same situation as you might have to apply to UNT or UTA.
A friend of mine received a 1520 SAT score and had all As and Bs (mostly As) in his high school grades and was in the top 15% and didn’t receive a single AES notification today. Another guy in my school got a 36 on the ACT, was number 5 of our school, and had almost all As in his high school grades and didn’t receive a single AES notification either. Another friend of mine got a 1490 and had all As and Bs (mostly As) and didn’t receive an AES notification today as well… All of these guys had good extracurricular activities, too. They all got accepted prior to 1/4/2018.
Something is wrong here…
Maybe we should wait 2-3 days @Shadowsych. it might take some time to update I guess
My son didn’t get any AES award last year either, even his SAT and ACT scores were in top 1%.
So he ended up going to UT Austin instead and is happy there.
@ProRazor I contacted the AES office today, and they told me I didn’t receive it.
Any reason they provided?
