Please share your stats here for UTD along with merit aid etc so we can all compare notes. This is one of the schools I am interested in. Applying soon.
Thank you!

Thank you!
There is a similar thread on AES scholarships UTD reddit.
reddit? Another site is it?
Just google UTD and reddit, and the AES link is the first thread.
Thanks!
I got my acceptance email yesterday
Your stats please and did you get any AES? Thanks! @futureaggie405
Accepted into jindal and got 3,000 in AES per semester and 2,000 from jindal per semester. Top 2% 30 Act 1340 sat. 99.6 gpa.
Congratulations @m470444 ! Thats an awesome award package! Did you have to apply separately for Jindal 2k per semester? (Asking because I want to apply for Engineering and want to know if there is a specific requirement from coe too.)Is that a merit based award too? Best wishes to you! Thanks for sharing your stats! Are you instate too?
Nope I didn’t have to apply separately for either. I think it is merit based as well. I am instate.
thank you @m470444
Where do you see your scholarship offer? And how long did it take for it to come in? Is it under “Accept/Decline awards?” Mine shows no data atm.
I had a 1430 SAT, top 1.8% out of 513 kids, 4.376 GPA Weighted, 3.902 GPA unweighted, I have my associates degree from my dual credit program, 82 credit hours from college, and have taken 8 ap classes.
This allows me to earn the AES Distinction tier, with a total of $15,910 dollars yearly ngranted to me or full tuition + $1,000 stipend per semester.
I got my award as soon as I got my acceptance email.
@futureaggie405 I got to know of my AES award when I got it in mail. I got a full tuition($54k per letter) and $1,000 per semester stipend. Stats -1410 SAT, Top 5% in a competitive tx high school class of 800. 10+ AP classes, choir for 4 years, 200+ community service hours in church.
Turns out I did not recieve any AES award. I’m top 35% with a 1240 SAT score.
Did you email them ?
My daughter just received her acceptance letter. AES, full tuition and $1000/semester stipend. She’s top 19% of 1091 students, 1400 SAT, 33 ACT, 3.56 unweighted, 4.458 weighted GPA. 11 APs and one dual credit class. Lots of ECs. She got into the School of Behavioral and Brain Science (Cognitive Science major). UTD isn’t on the top of her list but a full tuition scholarship might move it on up! Good luck, everyone!
Congratulations to your daughter @treehuggermom and thanks for sharing the stats! Yes tuition money really sways the thinking for me too! Good luck deciding!
@treehuggermom, my DD is at UTD in her third year. She started in computer science but has since transferred to cognitive science. She is loving the degree and will graduate next year with a masters in it. That is another advantage to UTD - they do have a fast track and the AES scholarship pays for 8 semesters, undergraduate or graduate level.
@treehuggermom, if your daughter does chose UTD for cognitive science, look closely at the degree. There are 3 major paths and they want undergrads to have an emphasis in 2 of them. The three areas are neural, human interaction with computers or AI. If your daughter is interested in the neural, this advice is not needed. If she is interested in the other 2, I would suggest starting out as a computer science major and then transferring to cognitive science. UTD is not allowing other majors to register in computer science classes until all computer science students have registered because their program is so large and there is such a demand. My daughter was a computer science students for 1.5 years and took all the required classes that were needed for both degrees while also taking some cognitive science classes. She then officially transferred to cognitive science without any problems.
