Does anyone know how long we have to submit SAT scores to UTD? I submitted my Application yesterday, but Im planning on taking a December or November SAT. How long do I have to send my scores before they decide on my admission. If I get accepted into the University before can I still submit my scores later to get a scholarship?
@Popyhead , Admissions told me to expect 4-6 weeks wait time from the time your application is complete. I think some people on here have heard earlier but it was the full 6 weeks for us and my son had a score. It is my understanding that scholarship offers will come out in December but I think I remember reading that you have until late spring to keep submitting scores for scholarships.
D admitted today! Her first admit decision (GC has been slow to send transcripts to schoolsā¦)
When did you apply: 9/13/20 (but GC did not send transcript until 10/4)
Class Rank: 1/51 (yeah, small school)
SAT (with Sub Scores) 1590 (790 EBRW; 800 M)
ACT (with Sub Scores) N/A
When did you receive your admission decision: 10/10
Are you an Auto-admit or Review Admit: Review (OOS)
Major/College of Choice: Computer Science
@ChillyCow Thank you so much for the help!
My S21 submitted his UTD app todayā¦applying to JSOM/undecided business major for 1st choice and Economics 2nd choice. Heās not an auto admit, so went test optional for now. He has another SAT scheduled for this month offered at school, weāll see how he does on that and I guess send in the score if itās better than his 9/26 test.
If you believe it can help her chances, maybe you can download an unofficial AP scores report from collegeboard and email it to the specific admissions counselor for your area. And ask them if they want an official report mailed. Iāve found that admissions counselors are very helpful and responsive with these types of questions.
Iām shocked. She just applied two days ago 10/14 and got an admission notification just now 10/16. I didnāt even think they would have received her HS transcript yet, as she requested it on 10/14 as well. No letter yetāit says to check back in one business day. I guess weāll have to wait until Monday.
āApplication StatusAdmitted ā Congratulations!ā
Iām a tiny bit skeptical. Is this for real?
Did any review admit who were test-optional get in yet?
@Popyhead We have been waiting for more than 7 weeks now(review,test-optional). Itās still showing as Undergraduate Committee review.
Looks like auto-admits and those who have submitted scores are getting reviewed quicker.
DS was accepted a few days ago. He had scores to submit so maybe that helped get his application reviewed more quickly. He is definitely excited to have gotten accepted!!
With that kind of score, your D can select some of the more elite schools for CS.
@starguitar , I have a theory that test optional and homeschoolers get put in a separate ātake forever to find outā pile! My homeschooled son applied in August and it took a good 6 weeks and an email to his Admissions Counselor at UTD to get a decision. You might try emailing the Admissions Counselor slated for your area. Tell them how long you have been waiting and ask if you have anything missing from your application that you still need to send (even if you know you donāt; just a nice way to say, āWhere the heck is my decision?!ā)
She is applying to a couple of other schools that would be considered āeliteā, I suppose. However, UTD is one of her top choices due to their NM scholarship, and their scholars program for CS.

Still waiting over here

Thanks, @ChillyCow mailing the admissions counselor didnāt help either.
Let it come whenever they are done.
Did anyone have trouble logging in to their Galaxy account to see their application status? When he uses the login, my S21 is getting an error message about two-factor authentication and using a security key. Heāll get in touch with them if he canāt solve it, but I just thought someone here might have encountered the same thing. Thanks in advance!

@chachalla : You need to set up the two-factor authentication, like Duo Push or other options. First, there was only one sign-in. After some time it became two-factored.

@starguitar Got it, thanks so much!
