Ut Eid Arg!!!!!!!!!!

I just spent an hour trying to figure out the darn website of UT!

They told me there is only one way to apply: online. And if you want to be eligible for any scholarships, you need to apply online.

Now in order to access the TEXAS common app, I need a UT EID. So I try to sign up for one, but they say I already have one. Apparently, if you send your scores, you get an UT EID.

Well, I sent my scores and never got a UT EID, or a password for one! So, I try to have them search for my UT EID and they ask for my name and phone number and birth date in the required fields and some sore of 16 digit card number in an optional box.

I never recieved such a number, but what the heck I try to tell them to look up my UT EID and it says I must fill out all boxes EVEN THE ONES THAT ARE NOT REQUIRED!!!! ARG!!!!!!!

So I then try to send an Email to the site, but I can't even do that b/c I need my UT EID as a prospective student. So after poking and [catle] "proding" around (god why can I not resist a pun) I get to sent an e-mail and it says they will answer me back within a WEEK!

Please explain to me why any college would put prospective applicants, who will potentially be investing thousands of dollars in a university in such an agrivating position. Why should I continue with this difficult application process?

lol enjoy the wonders of the UT website and admissions process...
I think UT may try to discourage students a bit when applying, considering they're getting pretty crowded.

CALL them tomorrow...

lol, i don't think they're trying to discourage students from applying...that is fortunately ridiculous.

i remember something weird like this happening to me, and i just called them and it got sorted out real quick.
sorry to hear you had such a crappy experience.

Just go here: https://www.applytexas.org/adappc/gen/profile.WBX

yeah UT went completely to online apps this year

The same thing happened to my S, just call the admissions office and they will hook you up.
