How often do you have to update and change it? I have already updated it after being accepted but I heard that we need to do it again at orientation and after FASFA.

I know that the one they update at the orientation is the one that lets you check your grades online and do stuff like that, but I'm not entirely sure what the one after FASFSA does...

alright, so if I go ahead and update my EID now, I wouldn't have to do it at orientation, right? cause i remember that updating my EID takes a while since all the passwords I come up with are usually taken :P

yea and forget about the FASFA part....it just wants me to upgrade it in order to update stuff during the school year.

"The CASH system requires that you have an upgraded UT EID in order to update information after the 12th class day, if your first semester is Fall or Spring"

I only upgraded it one time, and that was the one I was supposed to do at orientation. I live in Austin anyway so I did it a few days before to avoid the lines. I had to show up in person and show ID to have it upgraded. You can't do anything they consider confidential until you upgrade it.

You only upgrade the EID once, I believe, unless it's compromised.

You keep the same EID for all 4 years, and I believe you have the same one if you go on to grad school/law school at Texas as well.
