Well I am a junior at a Texas high school and because of class rank I am already in at Ut austin basically, and I think I have a great shot at engineering. I am 30 in a class of 607 (probably going up a couple more spots). I got a 2180 on my sat (760m/670cr/750w), so I guess that is a 1430 for ut. I have taken only one ap test (world history, 4) but this year I am taking 3 (psych, elang, ushist) and next year I plan on taking 10 (phyb,phyc1, phyc2, calcbc, compsci, stat, bio, chem, elit, gov, eco). My ec's are pretty crummy (freshman orientation leader junior year, 2 years of subvarsity basketball, NHS, young republicans) I will be NM commended. I do have a job though at the local grocery store (started the summer between 10th and 11th) and I work about 15-25 hours a week. I don't have time for much else, so that is really my dilemma. Also financial aid is basically out of the question. My mom made 50,000 last year at a commission based job and my dad, although out of the picture, made 100k. When my parents got divorced he quit his job in order to get low payments, found another job quickly and pays a minimal amount. I don't see him, and he won't pay. My mom had her identity stolen and is now in about 150k worth of debt. Will I be able to get any scholarship money at UT? or perhaps at A&M?
