He sent in a recommendation and a resume. He has business experience working for two businesses owned by family.

Good luck!!

S got into Aerospace engg.

@Tiger1992 … Did you get invited to BHP interview? My son did not get an interview invite yet. Is it too late to expect an interview now?

The website says interviews go through March. I expect they will go through the list of those just admitted and decide who will be invited to interview. I don’t think they interview candidates who have not been admitted yet. It would seem to be a waste of time. One date posted on CC was March 24 (26?) as the last day for BHP notifications, so I think (hope) there will be another wave of invitations. Lots of time!!

@Tiger1992 … Makes sense. Thanks for sharing. Good luck!

Thank you eaglemom!! Also sorry for all those typos in my post and that random “notable” at the end… i was on my phone and it was acting weird.

So I was a finalist for the Questbridge program so I spent all of October and November preparing my applications for their partner schools. Unfortunately I applied to UT last minute and didn’t know very much about their plans.

Can I change to Plan II Honors at some point?

@Tiger (on the last page)–people are interviewed before they are accepted into BHP. It wouldn’t make sense to accept a student and then interview them. However, getting an interview means that your readers in the office said “yes” to you, but getting an interview in no way guarantees admission, however, you need an interview to be considered.

make sense?

I think it makes sense that someone would be admitted to their major and then considered for honors/interviewed. I doubt anyone would be interviewed for honors before being admitted to Texas, but I could be totally incorrect.

The honors programs run their interviews and admissions processes completely apart from the university, so a student actually can be admitted to an honors program before they are admitted to UT (*the student will never know this though, because UT and Honors programs tend to release their decisions around the same time). However, once a student is admitted to that honors program, UT Admissions makes sure they don’t have an issue with the student being admitted, and then admit them.

This is how some unranked students have a really good shot when they apply to an honors program. Since UT assigns a rank, sometimes non-ranking school students are disadvantaged, but since honors programs do a holistic review, they will admit these students “easier” than UT does, since UT as a whole does not have a holistic review.
