UT Fine Arts

From the general class of 2025 UT thread:

Fri., Jan. 15 - top 6% auto students mostly in state (about 6,000 students)
Fri., Jan. 22 - all admits except architecture & fine arts
Fri., Jan. 29 - CAP admits (I would assume this includes PACE and rejections too)

Before winter break ~2k admissions (mostly AA)
Last week (week of 1/11) ~6k+ admissions (mostly AA)
This week (week of 1/18) ~7k+ admissions (some AA + non AA + OOS)
After Feb 1st regular decisions/Fine Arts/Architecture ~2.5K to 3k admissions

Does anyone know if COFA is releasing by Sunday?

I think they will release in mid to late February.
One thing did change today in my daughter’s portal today. It still has her automatic admission and says her application is being reviewed. There is also something else that looks slightly different but I can’t figure out what it is. I think there were two things listed on the “required” list and now there is one. I am not sure that’s the difference though.
However, previously her RIS sheet online had the “Bad Data 1000” error. Today it has all her info including her first choice major. I’m not sure if that means anything at all.

Anyone hear about AET (non-aa, in-state)? I only saw a couple on the main threads last night (one oos, one non-aa in-state) from AET & was hoping for more, since there’s not a portfolio review for this major.

Congratulations to your daughter!

Thanks -good luck to your student as well!

Did anyone hear anything today besides “We’re still reviewing your application for the Collge of Fine Arts” ?

we are in review until march 1. Dept of Art and Art History

Due to COVID, we have not had the chance to do anything other than a virtual info session. My son is a current UT student so we have been on campus but I wish there was a way for my daughter to get a feel for the art department and students in the COFA. We watched a video from the website but does anyone have any thoughts on how to get a feel for the department?
