Which major is easier to succeed at UT? Which program is also well known for its professors and its teaching curriculum?

Economics is the more diffucult of the two because it requires students to have strong math skills (Calculus I-III required) whereas government requires you to have good reading comprehension skills and be able to write.

I believe economics has more distinguished professors based upon the number of professors who are chairs of XX and based on the number of publications. Econ professors at UT are often cited and are often approached by government officals, reporters, etc for their insights because they are some of the best and brightest in the state of Texas and in the nation. Almost all of them are Ivy League educated and have freinds that are in the federal reserve or were taught by well-known economists.

Choose your major based on your strengths and based upon what you want to do once you leave school. If you are looking for an “easy” major just for the hell of it, don’t even bother with college and most certainly don’t bother with UT.
