UT - Lack of 30 Credits... June 1st Postponement

So I was notified that I have to wait till my Spring transcripts are finished in order to apply. They want me to apply by June 1st. However, I am getting emails from UT stating that my application is incomplete and due by March 1st. Also in my UT Direct it shows that I have two things incomplete. One of which makes sense, it tells me to submit my transcript by June 1st; the second says to submit my transcript which I've already done... However once it flagged me for not having 30 hours it popped up that message but also put my transcript as not received.

Here is an image; for those of you in the same boat does it show that you have 2 things incomplete or just one?

Sorry the image is so big, I have a retina macbook and everything is twice the size.

I have the same message. Regardless, technically the application is “incomplete” since they are waiting on the final transcript. So as long as you have everything else by the deadline I think you will be okay. But because you don’t have the min 30 credits when you applied, you have to wait til you submit your final transcript to hear a decision. I would call today just in case, which is what I’m doing. Best of luck!

And what school are you coming from if you dont mind me asking?

I don’t mind at all! I’m coming from Lone Star College its an ACC in the Greater Houston Area. Also let me know what they tell you after you call them, I’m busy today and can’t find the time to call them. I’ll have to call them some time this week though regarding other matters.

Yupp, I decided to email an UT Counselor and this is what she said:

You need to submit a transcript of your grades at this point which will only be the fall semesters grades. Then in May you will need to submit your final transcript. Most all transfer students cannot submit a transcript until then so it puts you at no disadvantage.

If you are not admitted you can appeal your admissions decision or you can wait another semester and apply for the Spring for 2014 or Fall 2014.

izziedodat,

Thanks for that bit of info about how this doesn’t put the transfers at a disadvantage… I was worried the decisions would be somewhat first-come, first-serve.

Glad I could help Hughstan. I would love to hear when you get guys hear back from UT to see if we all get in! This process is stressful!

Pretty much as everybody else has stated. As long as you submitted your essays, first semester transcripts, ApplyTexas app, and resume you should be good. You just have to get that last transcript in.

Also I’m coming from Lone Star was well! What campus are you in right now? And what’s your intended major? I’m applying for Radio-Television-Film and have Undergraduate Studies as my second choice. Judging from all my classes are going right now I should get at a 3.62 (I was told over the phone that the average was around this range). Not to mention my essays are pretty damn good and I’m pretty sure I’ll have a letter from my Mass Communications professor (who has a lot of professional experience and graduated from the same exact program at UT).

Sorry guys. i ain’t getting it. Do we need to submit a final and definitive transcript in order to have the application processed? i thought that transfer students were going to know the decision around April and after being admitted we need to send the transcript. Is it right?

i mean the updated transcript

So assuming you have under 30 credits, you should submit your first semester grades already or by the deadline along with everything else; application, essays and first semester transcript and everything else by the deadline. As soon as you finish your second semester and you get your final grades, you need to request a final transcript and send it in by May 1. I would think that if you are unable to get it in by that deadline or if your semester ends around May, then you need to contact UT and ask for further instructions. Personally I like sending emails, cause they are way nicer and I get feedback pretty fast. Hope that helps

The deadline is actually June 1st, not May 1st. So there should be plenty of time to get your transcript in by then. I’m in the same boat, and it’s stressing me out like crazy!
