UT Nursing Class of 2025

Hi everyone,

I’m a senior in high school and I applied to UT’s BSN program early action. I’m still waiting to hear a decision as of January 7th, 2021.

I was wondering what are my chances when it comes to getting accepted into UT’s nursing major. Here are my general stats/extracurriculars:

  • 4.5 GPA Weighted / 4.0 Unweighted
  • I did not send my SAT scores
  • I’m an auto-admit (Top 5%)
  • AP Science Classes I took/currently taking: Chemistry, Biology.
  • I also took health science related classes: Medical Terminology, Principles of Health Science, Practicum (Although I think these classes are only offered at my school)
  • I’m going to be CCMA certified by the end of my senior year (Medical assistant)
  • I’m an active member of HOSA and NHS
  • I volunteer a lot, but not at hospitals ( I wish I could’ve done that)
  • My health science teacher wrote my recommendation letter (she also works at a hospital as a RRT-NPS)

I don’t know, but my friend was National Merit, 1570 SAT, lots of EC and Salutatorian with tons of AP and lots of nursing type support. She did not get in Nursing at UT. Also in-state and auto admit obv. I don’t think there’s any way someone can chance you - they will take who they want to fill out the demographics of this very small program.
