<p>I'm stuck choosing between the University of Tennessee and the University of Alabama. I'm going into Sports Journalism. Alabama is regarded as one of the top 50 journalism schools in the country, while Tennessee was not on that list. Alabama is twice as far away as UT however. The costs are about the same. I have yet to take visits to these schools, I'm sure I will soon though. Both towns seem accommodating.</p>
<p>Is being farther away an issue (whether it be cost of traveling, homesickness, etc.)? Definitely visit, that usually seals the deal. They are both excellent schools, so don’t let “the better J-school” thing completely persuade you, but I’d say 'Bama has the better journalism program.</p>
